The integration is crucial when you start prototyping, for instance you can load the Seed Studios CAM settings into Eagle and generate 5-10 PCBs for $20. If you ever want to make a PCB from your schematic though, I highly encourage using something like Eagle which integrates the PCB, footprints, and schematic. I use LT to make engineering drawings at work, and it's pretty straightforward. If all you want is the schematic, seems like AutoCAD LT will work, but I would never use it for that.
